About us
We are Marloes and Martin Rösti - van Deursen,
and we welcome you to the Alpha Lupi's
Malinois Kennel homepage!
Together we have more than 30 years experience working with and training Malinois.
We have both handled dogs in IPO III, Martin additionaly in VPG III, Avalanche-Rescue III
and Avalanche-Rescue SAC-C (active duty).
As a qualified "Schutzdiensthelfer",
Martin has worked at the Belgian Shepherd-European Championship in Austria, as well as on
several SKG- and Belgian Shepherd-Swiss Championships. Also a recognised dog handler in the military,
Martin has raised and trained 3 of his Malinois for active service.
Marloes is owner of the
Alpha Lupi's
Malinois Kennel
and is in charge of the training and socialisation of the puppies.
A few words from Marloes about the Malinois:
"In my opinion, there is no other dog as versatile and trustworthy as the Malinois.
This breed is not only intelligent and dignified, but also strong and fast. In addition,
the Malinois is a hard worker. To effectively utilise this versatility, these dogs
need to be courageous and even-tempered to withstand both intense, as well as
prolonged stress.
Alpha Lupi's Malinois Kennel
"raison d'etre" is to continue the traits of the original
Malinois, and is therefore focused on the Belgian and Dutch bloodlines.
Our objective is to combine the best of the original Belgian Ring-lines with the
very versatile Dutch KNPV bloodlines, to produce most resilient offspring, which possess an excellent drive,
are even-tempered, as well as energetic and sociable.
Clearly the Malinois has a unique combination of many traits, desirable for sport and service,
which needs to be recognised."
Martin is in charge of developing the dogs' bite.
Martin:
"The Malinois is a true working dog which has both strength and intelligence.
A "true" Malinois should especially possess a healthy share of enthusiasm, as well as sharp instincts.
But the Malinois has become somewhat of a fashion statement, with the result that, in my opinion,
unreasonable expectations have been made of these dogs - to the detriment of this unique breed as a whole.
Everyone now wants a Malinois, but then you'll first have to know how to handle one!"
Our Alpha Lupi's are trained for both sports and service,
such as police work, search & rescue, or military duty.
