Why the name "Alpha Lupi"?

Alpha Lupi is a blue star belonging to the general class of Giant Stars. With a mass of between 3 and 150 times that of our sun, stars emit different colors; the larger and hotter they are, the more intense their colors. Blue stars are fairly unusual, but because of their bright color, they are easily spotted in the heavens.

Alpha Lupi is the brightest star in the constellation Lupus.
Loosely translated, Alpha Lupi means: "first of the wolves".
